Iran’s Oil Sales not Tied to Nuclear Deal Revival: Iranian Lawmaker

Iran’s Oil Sales not Tied to Nuclear Deal Revival: Iranian Lawmaker

Alwaght- Current Iranian administration has never tied oil sales to the talks with the US to revive the nuclear deal the former US President Donald Trump scrapped in 2018, said Iranian member of parliament Hussein Husseinzadeh.

“Although sanctions have their own impacts, the current administration has managed to carry out acceptable measures through great efforts and determination,” Tasnim News Agency quoted the lawmaker as saying.

The member of parliament’s Energy Commitee said that as the oil minister announced, the country’s oil exports doubled through strong diplomacy under the harshest conditions possible during the administration of President Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi’s term.

The parliamentarian pointed to the expansion of relations and commercial cooperation with the regional and Latin American countries as other factors behind the hike in oil production and exports under the current administration.

Iran has recently post a rise in its sales, saying that they reached 2 million barrels a day.

On Friday, Bloomberg also reported a “surge” in the Iranian oil sales in August. Bouncing back of the Iranian oil exports comes amid the increase in the exports to China.

Analysts said the higher exports appear to be the result of Iran’s success in evading US sanctions.

Washington has sought to limit Iran’s oil exports since Trump exited a 2015 nuclear accord in 2018 and re-imposed sanctions aimed at curbing revenues to Iran’s government. But the exports have risen during President Joe Biden’s term, with China a top buyer, according to the industry trackers.
