US Doesn’t Deserve UN Human Rights Council Seat: Iran’s UN Envoy

US Doesn’t Deserve UN Human Rights Council Seat: Iran’s UN Envoy

Alwaght- The US is far from deserving a seat at the United Nations Human Rights Council for its crimes and wars, said Iran’s United Nations envoy Ali Bahraini.

Bahraini posted his message referring to a part of US violation of the human rights.

“Let’s have a look at a Regime addicted to war that, each year, causes the deaths of over a thousand individuals by its police forces, but continues to occupy undeservingly a seat in the UN Human Rights Council, “ his X post read.

The post followed anti-Iranian rights claims made by the the US UN Envoy Michele Taylor.

On Friday, te US Permanent Representative to the UN Human Rights Council Michèle Taylor made an interventionist statement in Iran’s internal affairs, using the anniversary of the late Mahsa Amini’s death as an excuse claiming that Iran has no place in leadership roles within the UN human rights ecosystem.

Mahsa Amini was an Iranian girl who apparently suffered a stroke in a police station, triggering opposition protests that were backed by Western countries.

The government of Iran ordered an independent probe that later found that the death was natural and caused by a stroke and did not involve human factors. However, the protests spiraled into massive riots.

Iran’s intelligence community has said several countries, including the US and Britain, have used their spy and propaganda apparatuses to provoke violent riots in the country.

Rioters went on a rampage, brutally attacking security officers and causing massive damage to public property. Dozens of people and security personnel were killed in the riots.

The US threw its support behind foreign-backed Iranian subversive forces, including monarchists who have been nurtured by the US for decades in expectation of regime change in Iran.

The riots calmed down when pro-government protests were held. The security apparatus said it arrested ringleaders and organizers of the riots trained in foreign countries by British and American intelligence agencies.
