Putin: America Has Been Destabilizing the World Order

Alwaght- Ukraine war is regarded a turning point in the global security for its broad aspects, and with the East and West facing off each other, the passage of time will determine which side would have the upper hand. Meanwhile, Russia that has no hope for restoration of the past relations with the US and the West tries to make new partners to add to its allies and work out an East-centered new world order. In this regard, Moscow Security Conference is a proper platform for Russia and its friends to share their views and make their way to multipolar world.

The 11th Moscow Security Conference was held on Thursday with the participation of foreign officials and opening speech of President Vladimir Putin of Russia. The event was attended by over 800 representatives from 76 countries including defense ministers, deputy defense ministers, army chiefs of staff, representatives of international organizations, and military experts from countries including China, Iran, Syria, Belarus, India, North Korea, South Africa, Israeli regime, Turkey, Mexico, Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.

In the opening speech of this conference, Putin, pointing out that the US is looking for its desired reform in the cooperation system between countries in the Asia-Pacific region, said West is planning to integrate NATO with the AUKUS coalition.

“We do not rule out that they are after the full integration of NATO forces with the emerging structures of the AUKUS bloc," Putin emphasized.

Stating that Moscow still wants a multipolar world order, Putin maintained that reducing confrontation at the global and regional level and mitigating risks is possible only by uniting the efforts of the international community.

The Russian leader further said that the West is inflaming the old conflicts and fomenting new ones and the aim of the fomenters is to continue taking advantage of human tragedies, trap the nations, force states into subservience in the new colonial system, and ruthlessly exploit their resources.

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu also delivered a speech to the conference, saying: “During the special military operation, the Russian Army debunked many myths about the superiority of Western military standards. It became obvious that the use of Western weaponry, supposedly advanced NATO methods of planning operations, methods of troop management and training could not ensure superiority on the battlefield.”

Also, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accused the US of trying to undermine the Non-Peoliferation Treaty, adding that Washington “attempts to exclude the AUKUS military bloc from the Treaty on the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) could jeopardize the agreement's existence.” He also called on the UN to do its best to fight terrorism unaffected by the Western double standards.

Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu said in his speech that the military relations between Russia and China are not against third countries and that Beijing is ready to strengthen security work in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and military cooperation with Iran and Belarus.

MSC is an annual event gathering together representatives of military and international organizations and non-state experts to find answer for questions on world's key security issues.

The event is held simultaneously with the Army 2023 Military Technical Forum. The participants exchange views on strengthening constructive interaction on current issues, and discuss global and regional stability problems, as well as various aspects of security in Asia, Africa, West Asia, Latin America, and Europe. The goals of this conference are to strengthen the interaction between the military organizations of different countries to find common ways to deal with new challenges and threats.

The conference was held for the first time in 2012 after start of Arab uprisings, which put the world face to face with a serious challenge, to discuss ways to confront the emerging global crises.

Iran's bold presence in the conference

The Moscow event marked a proper opportunity for Iran, as a close ally of Russia, to present the views of the Islamic Republic in the world arena and advance military diplomacy with other countries. Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, deputy chief of General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces who headed a high-ranking military delegation to Moscow, addressed Ukraine war, saying tat the fomenters of this war should review their approach and know that endangering the safety of others can cause a reaction that may be difficult for them to predict.

“What we are witnessing in Ukraine today, and in which dozens of people are falling victim and will have long-term effects and consequences for the region and the world, is a clear example of the West's desire for domination and excess to continue its hegemony, and this push has so far brought about many disasters,” the Iranian military official said.

Referring to the US crimes across the world including use of nukes, Brigadier General Nasirzadeh dismissed Washington's human rights advocacy as “sham and absurd”, adding: “The Americans cowardly martyred General Qassem Soleimani who led the fight against ISIS as the human history's most dangerous terrorist group and crushed it and saved the people of the region from this evil group.”

“We believe that the main reason for the decline of unilateralism is the vigilance of the nations and their choice of resistance, stability and solidarity approach against [Western] arrogance, and in the new order, this approach will be strengthened, along with the emergence of new and independent powers in different regions with new regional and global coalitions like the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS which bring together the power and capability of independent countries against the hegemony of the West and make another important factor for the formation of the new world order,” the Iranian military official added.

Iran was also present in the military and technical exhibit and put to show its latest defense technology achievements that were well received by military officials of other countries who showed a desire to know about Iranian defense industry developments.

Defense and military industries of Iran have displayed various military and defense products to the visitors. This exhibition is held in Moscow from August 14 to 20, and about 1,500 Russian defense companies and 85 foreign companies from seven countries have participated in it. Russian defense minister visited Iran's defense pavilion.
