Alwaght- Iran's Supreme Leader Sayed Ali Khamenei has met Navy commanders in the Navy Day and called for the naval forces to embark on constant power improvements.

In the meeting, the Leader suggested that it is necessary that the Navy strengthens its combat readiness and equipment to continue overseas missions.

He urged closer relationship with the government and other forces.

‘Strengthening the relationship between the armed forces and the government and other forces will help in understanding and cooperation and the progress of work,” he was quoted as saying by Fars News Agency.

He was updated by reports from the Navy commanders on the programs of the force and the achievements made to bolster the naval power of the country.

In the past decade, Iran strengthened its naval forces as it calls the Navy a” strategic force.”

Iranian Navy conducts regional and international missions regularly to enhance its combat readiness and to guard the nation's commercial fleet against piracy.

Iran regularly supplies new vessels and warships to its naval forces, the latest of which is the state-of-the-art Shahid Suleimani missile corvette with catamaran design that was delivered to the IRGC Navy in September.
