Alwaght- Yemeni forces backed by fighters from Popular Committees have killed at least 13 Saudi regime troops kingdom’s southwestern border region of Jizan.
According to Yemen's Arabic-language al-Masirah satellite television network, Yemeni soldiers and their allied forces carried out a successful ground attack in the al-Khobe district of the region, 966 kilometers south of the Saudi capital, Riyadh, killing at least 13 Saudi troops.
Al-Masirha also reported that Yemeni soldiers and fighters of popular committees carried out another operation in Saudi Arabia’s southwestern region of Asir, destroying a number of Saudi tanks and armored vehicles in the city of al-Rabou'a. Saudi regime military officials are yet to to comment on the reports. Yemeni forces carried out the operations as part of their retaliatory attacks on the brutal Saudi aggression against their country.
Elsewhere, Saudi-led coalition warplanes launched on Monday seven air strikes on Sirwah district in Yemen's Ma'rib province.
Local sources told Yemeni news agency Saba that the air raids targeted the house of Sheikh Saleh bin Sawda Toa'iman in Sirwah.
The aggression warplanes also carried out a number of raids on Huqail areas and Sirwah souk.
Meanwhile Yemen’s ousted government said on Monday it has agreed to participate in UN-sponsored talks with Ansarullah revolutionaries.
The United Nations is yet to announce the date and location for the proposed talks, but Rajeh Badi, the exiled government’s spokesman said the talks are likely to be held in Geneva, Switzerland.
He confirmed over the weekend that the UN envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed had delivered an invitation to fresh talks with Ansarullah and its ally, former president Ali Abdullah Saleh.
Yemen has been since March 26 under brutal aggression by Saudi-led coalition. Over 6,400 Yemenis have been killed and many more injured in the attack, with the vast majority of being civilians including women and children.
Riyadh launched the attack on Yemen in a bid to restore power to fugitive president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi who is a close ally to Saudi Arabia.
