Yemeni Forces Down Saudi Spy Drone over Saada

Alwaght- Yemeni forces have shot down a Saudi drone as it was on a spying mission in Yemen’s northwestern province of Saada.

According to Arabic-language al-Masirah television network, the Saudi reconnaissance drone was shot down by Yemeni army soldiers as it was flying in the skies over al-Buqa district on Sunday evening.

The drone was downed hours after at least 18 people, including women and children, were killed when Saudi warplanes carried out a number of airstrikes in an area of Sa'ada.

According to Yemeni television network, the Saudi aerial aggression hit the Aqiq area of the Kataf district on Saturday. Among the victims were some medics who had tried to save the wounded from the initial strike.

Earlier this month, the Yemeni army announced that it had managed to shoot down a US-made General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper, a drone operated by the Royal Saudi Air Force.

In June, the Yemeni air defense forces also intercepted and shot down a Saudi F-15 fighter jet in the skies over Sana’a.
