Alwaght-Venezuela has condemned comments by United States against the country's National Constituent Assembly, ANC.
Venezuela's Ministry of Foreign Affairs slammed remarks by the US State Department's spokeswoman Heather Nauert against the assembly.
In a statement, the Ministry rejected Washington's criticism of the newly-elected body's sovereign decisions.
It also denounced the disinformation campaign advanced by mainstream western media to promote destabilization of Venezuela
The Venezuelan government has also rejected the intervention by some regional countries against the body.
On Friday, a bloc of countries including Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia and seven other nations joined the US in criticizing the assembly by claiming it usurped the powers of congress.
Members of the newly-elected ANC have rejected allegations that the opposition-led National Assembly was dissolved.
The body assumed some of the National Assembly's functions by decree on Friday, because it continues to be in contempt since it swore in lawmakers whose elections were under investigation for irregularities.
The ANC's President Delcy Rodriguez said that despite mainstream media and opposition claims that the legislative body was dissolved, only some of its functions have been assumed and the lawmakers can continue working.
Meanwhile, Bolivia's President Evo Morales has said the US attempts to drum up regional support for possible military intervention in Venezuela have been a total failure.
"South America has stopped being the U.S. backyard. We live in times of change, for the dignity of the people. The time of the empire has ended," Morales said.
Morales said that Trump cannot teach democracy and freedom to countries in Latin America since he encourages racism and xenophobia.
Over 8 million Venezuelans voted in the ANC election last month to elect the 545-member body in a mass display of support for a peaceful resolution to the crisis in the country.
