Alwaght- Iran's Parliament has unanimously passed a bill, which designates US military forces and spy agencies as supporters of terrorist groups in the West Asia region.
The single-urgency bill which was passed on the Parliament floor on Tuesday, read, “In view of the overt support provided to terrorist groups by the US government and the country’s military and intelligence forces and repeated confessions by American officials to having created terrorist groups and offered them all-out support, from the standpoint of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the entirety of the United States’ military and intelligence forces are considered as supporters of terrorist groups in the region.”
The bill included persons and entities in the US, including armed forces and intelligence agencies that would be subject to penalties outlined in the legislation.
The bills also targets American persons or entities directly or indirectly supporting the anti-Iran MKO terrorist group or other extremist and terrorist groups including ISIS and al-Nusra Front.
American persons supporting the Israeli regime’s state terrorism against the Palestinian and Lebanese people are also targeted. The bill obliges the Iranian administration to expand the country’s missile program, increase deterrent power and support the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC). It also urges the Iranian administration to increase the budget of IRGC's Qods Force to boost it fight terrorism in the region.
The bill is a countermeasure against a US Congress bill to impose new sanctions on the Islamic Republic over its missile program, support for resistance groups and rights abuse accusations.
Mid last month, US senators voted 98-2 to pass the “Countering Iran's Destabilizing Activities Act.” Before it is signed into law by US President Donald Trump, the measure has to pass the House, where it has hit a procedural problem.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday that the US government said it was imposing new economic sanctions against Iran over the Islamic Republic’s missile program.
The US departments of treasury and state said Tuesday that they were targeting 18 Iranian individuals, groups and networks.

The US claims Iran’s missile program is in breach of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231, which endorsed Tehran’s nuclear deal with the P5+1 states in 2015.
However, Tehran insists its missile tests do not breach any UN resolutions because they are solely for defense purposes and not designed to carry nuclear warheads.
