ALWAGHT- The Israeli regime continues its intense attacks on multiple areas in Syria as Western-backed militants, who toppled the government earlier this month, consolidate their control.
On Monday, Israeli warplanes launched strikes on vital facilities and military infrastructure along Syria’s western coastline, targeting cities such as Tartus and Latakia. These attacks focused on missile bases and ammunition depots, causing massive explosions. Additionally, Lebanon's al-Mayadeen network reported that Israeli forces advanced up to 15 kilometers into Quneitra Province.
Russia's Sputnik news agency detailed further Israeli assaults on military sites in Hama, Homs, and Aleppo, describing the impacts as earthquake-like. Reports also indicated that the Military Airport in Deir al-Zawr, in eastern Syria, was among the targets. Israeli warships reportedly fired advanced missiles at Syria’s Tartus Province, marking a new escalation in military tactics.
The strikes followed Sunday’s attacks on positions formerly held by the Republican Guard and Fourth Armored Division near Damascus, alongside air raids in Dara’a and Homs. Israeli forces also seized three villages in Syria, including Jamla in Dara’a and two others in Rif Dimashq. This aggression reflects a significant escalation, with intensified strikes on Syria's military infrastructure and expanded Israeli occupation in the Golan Heights.
Regional Arab states, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Egypt, and Iraq, condemned Israel's actions. The Israeli regime’s increased aggression comes in the wake of Syria’s recent government collapse, with reports suggesting Israeli and Western support for anti-Damascus militants. Tel Aviv has announced plans to boost illegal settler populations in the occupied Golan Heights, further inflaming regional tensions.
