ALWAGHT- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Israel’s recent aggression against Iran was conducted through airspace of other regional countries, including US-controlled airspace over Iraq. He added that Iran has filed a complaint with the United Nations regarding the matter.
During a cabinet meeting in Tehran on Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi addressed Israel’s unauthorized use of Iraqi airspace for its October 26 attack on Iran. He remarked that Israeli fighter jets had used airspace controlled by the US in the region, along with airspace from other neighboring countries.
Araghchi added that Iran is pursuing Iraq’s complaint to the United Nations concerning Israel's actions and is coordinating with other regional states whose airspace was reportedly involved.
In the early hours of Saturday, Israeli warplanes allegedly used US-controlled airspace over Iraq to launch projectiles at Iranian military sites in Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam provinces, violating Iran’s sovereignty. The Iranian Armed Forces stated that Israeli jets fired long-range missiles from US-held Iraqi airspace, about 100 kilometers from the Iranian border, targeting radar installations in Ilam, Khuzestan, and near Tehran.
The Armed Forces also confirmed that a significant number of missiles were intercepted, and Israeli planes were prevented from entering Iran’s airspace. Iran has pledged to respond to this aggression, urging the US to restrain Israeli actions that threaten regional peace and stability.
