IRGC Arranges Funeral for General Who Was Martyred in Beirut

ALWAGHT- Funeral processions have been scheduled in Iraq and Iran for senior IRGC commander Brigadier General Abbas Nilforooshan, who was martyred alongside the Hezbollah secretary general in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon on September 27.

The public relations department of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps announced on Sunday that funeral services will take place for senior Iranian military adviser Brigadier General Abbas Nilforooshan in the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala in Iraq, as well as in Iran's northeastern holy city of Mashhad on October 14.

Residents of Tehran can attend the general's funeral at Imam Hussein (AS) Square at 9 a.m. local time on October 15, according to the IRGC.

The general will be laid to rest following the final funeral service in Isfahan, Iran, on Thursday, October 17.

General Nilforooshan, a senior commander of the IRGC Quds Force and the IRGC commander in Lebanon, was declared martyred in the Israeli attack that targeted several residential buildings in the densely populated Dahiyeh suburb of Beirut on September 27.
