ALWAGHT- On Tuesday, the head of the Eurasian office at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan will reopen and resume operations in Iran soon.
According to the Iranian foreign ministry official, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan is scheduled to reopen in Iran within the next 15 to 20 days, and the Azerbaijani ambassador will return to Tehran to resume his diplomatic duties.
Relations between Tehran and Baku were strained in January 2023 after a fatal attack on Azerbaijan's Embassy in Tehran. Azerbaijan closed its diplomatic mission in Iran, describing the incident as a "terrorist act," while investigations determined that the attacker was motivated by "personal and family-related issues."
