ALWAGHT- On the first day of Eid al-Adha, following 12 hours of temporary and cautious calm, the occupying forces of the Zionist regime launched attacks on border towns in southern Lebanon using fighter jets and artillery shells.
The official Lebanese news agency reported that this afternoon, fighter jets of the Zionist regime conducted an airstrike, targeting the town of "Yaroun" in the Bint Jbeil region in the south with two air-to-ground missiles.
Meanwhile, local sources said that after 12 hours of temporary calm, the occupying army's artillery targeted the outskirts of the towns "Halta" and "Kfar Chouba."
While no statement has been issued by the occupying army regarding these attacks, Channel 12 of the Zionist regime briefly reported that "the army bombed targets in southern Lebanon."
Since October 8th, the border between Lebanon and the Israeli regime has witnessed intense tension and intermittent exchanges of fire between the occupying Zionist army on one side and Hezbollah resistance and Palestinian groups in Lebanon on the other.
According to reports published on the American website "Axios," citing American officials, in the midst of highly sensitive efforts to achieve a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and to prevent the escalation on the "Israeli" and Lebanon border from turning into a widespread regional war, this issue has recently become an urgent priority for the White House.
In this context, it is expected that Amos Hochstein, envoy of Joe Biden, will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in Tel Aviv during his visit tomorrow (Monday) to discuss de-escalation between "Israel" and "Hezbollah Lebanon" and to request that they refrain from a "limited ground invasion" of Lebanon.
An informed source said that Hochstein will also head to Beirut for discussions with Lebanese officials.
