Alwaght- Intelligence sources believe that currently at least 2,000 armored vehicles including Humvee and about 40 aircraft including UH-60 Black Hawk choppers are now seized by the Taliban, according to Reuters.
New footage shows Taliban forces visiting long lines of military vehicles, new shipments of weapons and even military drones.
According to a US military official, everything that has not been destroyed is now in the hands of the Taliban.
Meanwhile, Michael McCool, a Republican member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, called the Taliban's arming with American weapons a threat to the security of Washington and its allies.
US President Joe Biden has been heavily under fire for presenting a chaotic picture of military withdrawal from Afghanistan. Yet, he continues to defend his "irresponsible" decision.
On the other hand, since last Sunday, when the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, they have largely succeeded in establishing public order, saying that the world should recognize them.
The Wall Street Journal quoted informed sources as saying that in mid-July, at least 20 US diplomats stationed at the Kabul embassy wrote a confidential note to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken about the possibility of Kabul falling as soon as the withdrawal process was completed.
The message was sent through one of the US State Department's secret channels, citing the rapid advance of the Taliban and the collapse of the Afghan security forces, sources said.
The diplomats also made recommendations to the State Department to reduce the consequences of the crisis and speed up the process of withdrawing US troops before the August 31 deadline.
The US and NATO allies claim that the fall of Kabul was not unpredictable, but the pace of the Taliban's advances has taken them by surprise.
Biden, in response to criticism of withdrawal from Afghanistan, claimed that even if the administration of former US President Donald Trump had not reached an agreement with the Taliban in February 2019, he would have withdrawn US troops.
He also said that the withdrawal of American citizens from Afghanistan may need a time beyond August 31.
Last Sunday, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani surrendered Kabul to Taliban forces, a group that had had already occupied most of the country.
"The world must accept us," Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told a news conference on Thursday, which focused mainly on the Taliban government's foreign policy. "We have not attacked anyone's house."
Mujahid also continued his speech by pointing to the importance of diplomatic relations with the countries of the world for the Taliban. "We want diplomatic relations with the whole world but we do not accept anyone's interference in our religious affairs," he said, adding: "We do not approve of a foreign force on our soil and we will not surrender to anyone."
