Ghalibaf Underscores Constant Preparedness to Defend the Homeland

ALWAGHT- Iranian Parliament Speaker and senior negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said the country must remain constantly prepared to confront the United States, stressing the importance of maintaining Iran's arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Parliament Speaker and chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Iran's national security depends on preserving what he described as the country's "arrangements" in the Strait of Hormuz and ensuring the safe passage of commercial vessels. He said Tehran had insisted on protecting these arrangements during negotiations and would resist any attempt to weaken them.

Ghalibaf said Iran remains in a long-term confrontation with the United States, accusing Washington of seeking to pressure the country and create internal divisions. He stressed that Iran's policies in both negotiations and conflict must be guided by realism, national interests, and reliance on domestic capabilities.

He added that negotiations are part of Iran's broader strategy alongside military preparedness and should not be viewed as a sign of compromise. Ghalibaf also said decisions on war and negotiations rest with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, emphasizing that Iran's objectives would be pursued through a combination of resistance, diplomacy, and defensive strength.
