Alwaght- British government has not sent “even a gram of flour” to Syrian city of Aleppo despite criticism of Russia over the humanitarian situation.
Responding to British spokeswoman who accused Russia of stopping aid deliveries to the troubled city of Aleppo, Russian Defense ministry said London has sent no aid for the country.
“It seems that the UK government has lost an objective view of what is happening in Syria, including Aleppo, due to Russophobia,” Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said on Saturday.
UK has not sent “a single gram of flour, any medicine or blankets to help” civilians in Aleppo during the whole Syrian conflict, he said.
“If the UK government really wants to send humanitarian aid to residents in the eastern neighborhoods [of Aleppo], it has all conditions for doing this, just tell us where it [the aid] has been held up," he added.
“If there is no such British humanitarian aid for Aleppo, then don’t obstruct others from helping,” he added.
According to Konashenkov, since November 28, Syrian troops have liberated almost half of Aleppo’s neighborhoods from terrorist and rebel militants.
Syrian Army had rescued more than 90,000 civilians in these areas. Over 28,000 civilians, including 14,000 minors, have fled the militant-controlled neighborhoods of east Aleppo, he added.
“All this time, the residents of the eastern neighborhoods [of Aleppo] have been receiving humanitarian aid, medicine, and warm clothes from the Russian Centre for Reconciliation and the Syrian government on a daily basis,” Konashenkov said.
There have been reports that foreign supporters of the militant groups deliver logistics to the armed groups masqueraded as humanitarian aid cargos that they insist should not be inspected by Syrian forces.
Meanwhile Syrian central government has been delivering humanitarian aids to the civilian population in the militant-held regions and also has established secure corridors to let civilians flee the terrorist controlled districts.
Syrian northern city of Aleppo has been divided between terrorist and militant groups on eastern parts and government forces on west. The national army of Syrian has initiated an operation to reunite the city and cleanse terrorists.
