US Airstrikes Kill 9 Iraqi Civilians in Mosul

Alwaght- US-led coalition airstrikes have killed 9 civilians in the Iraqi city of Mosul on Saturday.

Iraqi military sources who asked for anonymity, told that the airstrikes targeted the Mosul’s eastern areas.

The source, who is one of the Iraqi army’s Mosul operations commander, said the airstrikes took place in al-Shallalat area, which is considered the northern gateway into the city.

The Iraqi Source also added that among killed civilians there were two women and three children. US-led forces attacked two houses, which did not contain any ISIS members, he added.

The operation to liberate Iraq’s second-largest city from the ISIS terrorist group began on 17 October and the Iraqi army, federal police, Popular Mobilization Forces, and Peshmerga forces are taking part in the large-scale campaign.

The US-led coalition claims to be supporting the operation through its airstrikes while there have reports of the country’s efforts to help the ISIS terrorists leave Iraqi into Syrian territory.
