Alwaght- Two police officers were shot dead in eastern Saudi Arabia, the country’s Al Arabiya TV channel reported on Tuesday.
The unknown gunmen shot the officers in the eastern city of Dammam.
The report says gunmen opened fire on a private car carrying the two officers returning from work.
The channel’s website posted pictures showing police cars with flashing lights crowding the incident scene which is a residential street in Dammam.
The killing of security forces has become recurrent incident in the Arab Kingdom where the Shiite minority has also been targeted by terrorist attacks killing dozens of them.
In September, two other policemen were shot dead in Dammam which is the capital of the Eastern Province, home to many Shiite Muslims.
There have been shootings of security forces in the Eastern Province in the past by militants angry at what they say is repression of their minority community in the Wahhabi-ruled country.
