Iraqi Military Liberates Villages 6km from Mosul

Alwaght- Iraqi army advances further toward the northern city of Mosul after liberating several more villages on Tuesday.

The Iraqi national army launched heavy attacks on the ISIS terrorists just 6km from Mosul, as part of the comprehensive operation to liberate the city from the terrorist group.

On the East Mosul axis, the army forces managed to liberate the Khaznah, Muwafakiyah, Tahrawah and Tarab Zawa villages that puts them on the gates of Mosul.

The Iraqi Army, Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) and the Assyrian Nineveh Liberation Units are now just within 6km of Mosul's eastern outskirts. The PMF have made it clear however that they will not participate in any battles within Mosul city.

A recent report by Reuters says the ISIS group has lost 80 villages in only 8 days of the Mosul operation.

Earlier on Monday, Iraqi forces drove ISIS out of the villages of Ayn al-Namroud and al-Na’amaniyah south of Mosul.

Meanwhile, Iraq's Joint Operations Command said on Monday that armed forces have killed 772 ISIS terrorists and freed 74 villages in the first week of the operation to retake Mosul.
