Alwaght- Yemeni Army captured a strategically important point near the Saudi border, al-Masdar news site reported on Tuesday.
The army units supported by the Ansarullah resistance movement forces entered a fierce battle with Saudi army before defeating them.
The report includes a short footage showing Yemeni forces in the position after the Saudi army and border guards have retreated from the region.
The footage shows the capture of a military vehicle and ammunition in the al-Zaj position area in Asir region, in southern Saudi Arabia.
The Yemeni army and Ansarullah forces carry out such attacks to retaliate Saudi airstrikes against the Arab country.
More than 10,000 Yemenis have been killed since the regime in Riyadh launched its deadly campaign against Yemen in March 2015. The military aggression was meant to restore power to Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh and Yemen’s president who has resigned and fled the capital. Hadi seeks to force his way back into power.
