Saudi Lobbyist Urges Alliance with Israeli Regime

Alwaght- A top Saudi lobbyist in the US, Salman al-Ansari, calls for a "collaborative alliance" between Saudi Arabia and the Israeli Regime on regional and economic interests.

The head of the Saudi American Public Relations Affairs Committee in Washington DC said his country should utilize the unique situation of Israeli regime for assistance in the coming years.

In an article in The Hill publication he said Tel Aviv was “one of the most sophisticated and technologically advanced countries in the field of mining,” as well as “a world leader in the water engineering industry” — both matters are of significant interest to the developing Arab Kingdom.

Israeli regime and Saudi Arabia have no formal ties. However, it has long been rumored that the two sides have held clandestine discussions on matters of regional security, and talk of warming relations has proliferated in recent months.

Accusing the Islamic republic of Iran of supporting terrorist groups, the Saudi lobbyist claimed that both sides share security concerns, with both “facing constant threats from extremist groups that are directly supported by the totalitarian government of Iran.”

The accusation comes as the Saudi Arabia is internationally blamed for its support for some top terrorist organizations including the al-Qaeda and ISIS groups, two of the most dangerous terror organizations in the world. The Israeli regime is also known for its state terror against the Palestinians and Lebanese, killing and detaining thousands each year.

Tel Aviv and Riyadh, he argued, could serve as “the new twin pillars of regional stability”. He urged leaders on both sides not to “stifle” the opportunity for developing these mutual goals.

Recent months have seen various signs of the change in tone between Saudi Arabia and Israeli regime. A media campaign in Saudi Arabia in August sought to combat anti-Israeli sentiments in the kingdom, in a possible effort to prepare public opinion for deepened relations with Tel Aviv.
