Alwaght- Syrian forces managed to liberate several villages near the western city of Hama on Saturday night.

During a powerful counterattack targeting terrorist and militant groups in the region, the army managed to liberate the villages and farms located just north of Taybat Al-Ism.

Several units of the army including the 4th Mechanized Division and the Tiger Forces' "Shaheen Group," participated in the attack.

The Syrian Armed Forces captured the villages of Al-Shaatha, Al-Junayneh, Al-Qahira, and Al-Tulaysiyeh after overrunning Jund Al-Aqsa's (Syrian Al-Qaeda franchise) defenses.

Syrian government is fighting foreign backed terrorist groups since 2011 when they initiated a war to topple the legitimate president, Bashar Assad.

Terrorists have suffered major setbacks over the past few months as the Syrian army, backed by Russian air cover, has managed to wrest control over several important areas across the country.
