Fighting Rages as Saudi Coalition Intensifies Strikes across Yemen

Yemen under attack.

Clashes continue to shake Yemen’s security as the Saudi-led coalition ratchet up airstrikes across the country.

Alwaght- The Saudi-led coalition backing Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi’s forces has intensified its strikes on neighbouring Yemen where clashes between loyalists to the former president on the one hand, and the Yemeni army and Popular Forces on the other hand, raged on Monday.

More than 20 airstrikes have been reported to take place across the war-ravaged country. The National Security building as well as the al-Khorafi military camp on the eastern entrance to the capital Sana’a were targeted.

Destructive airstrikes also shook the area of al-Azraqin north of the capital, the camp of Dabwa in the Sanhan district, and the area of Naqil Yaslih south of Sana’a.

In addition, violent Saudi-coalition raids were carried out on Nabi Shouaib Mountain west of the capital.

Meanwhile in Taiz, fierce battles between the army and fighters on one side of the conflict and Hadi’s forces on the other were renewed in the areas of al-Zonouj and Ouseifira, extending to the Kalab region north of the city.

According to the side fighting for Yemen’s independence, several armed members of Hadi’s forces were killed and others were wounded during three attempts to fend off attacks in the area of al-Moushref.

To the north and west of Taiz, warplanes launched a series of strikes on the Liwaa 22 camp in the al-Janad area and al-Jadeed.

Moreover, Ma’rib witnessed fighting between the two sides. The Yemeni army along with the Popular Forces managed to counter an assault by Hadi’s forces that sought to enter al-Rabia area in Sirwah. An unspecified number of Hadi loyalists were killed and wounded including Commander Abdallah al-Aawash.

In al-Jawf governorate, a military source said two military tanks belonging to Hadi’s forces were destroyed.

In Saada, 25 airstrikes by the coalition’s warplanes were counted specifically in the areas of Mandba and Thaaban, northern Yemen.

Additionally, the Yemeni Defense Ministry announced that the army launched a volley of Katyusha rockets at a Saudi military camp in Najran. Missiles also targeted Saudi forces in Aseir along the border. Army positions in Saudi Gizan also saw attacks from across the border.

Yemen has been under Saudi-led attacks for more than 18 months. Despite the brutality of the war, the Saudi aggression has been met with resistance and it seems Yemenis are adamant they will emerge triumphant from under the wreckage.
