Alwaght- An inquiry by the Israeli police suggests that the Israeli military personnel lift weapons along with their ammunitions from the storehouses of the army and sell them to mafia groups to make living and run their life and their families.
Stealing of the Israeli army's weapons and ammunition and using them in criminal acts have always been making headlines in the Israeli regime's media. Every year hundreds of guns and large amounts of ammunitions of the Israeli armed forces disappear in broad daylight. The probes of the Israeli authorities disclose the role of the army officers and soldiers in stealing and selling of the arms.
According to a secret inquiry launched by the Israeli military, the army personnel are the major factor making available the army weapons to the mafia groups that use them in their criminal actions. The Hebrew-language Israeli newspaper Yisrael Hume that published the report has made revelations about the large numbers of stolen army weapons and warned that these weapons are increasingly being used by the mafia groups inside the regime.
According to the Israeli army's report, from the 1284 criminal acts committed in past two and half a year at least 1004 cases have used the army weapons that are stolen from the military bases or the houses of the Israeli military personnel. Furthermore, from the total of 522 cases of criminal actions taken place in 2014, 394 cases used the weapons of the Israeli army. The case was similar in 2015, and from a total of 476 criminal acts that occurred in the Israeli regime 400 cases used military weapons which included bombs and even shoulder-launched missiles. Between January and July 2016 also 282 cases of criminal actions were reported occurred in the Israeli territories. From this number in 232 cases military weapons were used.
The Israeli army's report says that the weapons demands by the mafia bands have caused emergence of a highly profitable market of the military weapons. This comes while the army is doing its best to block supply of the stolen guns to mafia groups and it has made some successes, according to the published report.
According to the report of the Israeli daily, in 2014 the army managed to foil 1523 cases of criminal acts in which the criminals aimed to use the stolen army guns. Additionally, in 2015, 1249 cases of criminal attempts of the groups of crime were thwarted by the Israeli security forces.
The Israeli military claims that it had made some achievements in confronting the phenomenon of army weapons thefts, adding that the stealing of guns from 90 cases in 2014 dropped to 67 cases in 2015.
A collection of these figures becomes worrisome when the likeliness of access of the terrorist groups across the region in an array of ways to these weapons, either inadvertently or purposely, increases. These weapons could be used for terrorist actions in Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon. In fact, the Israeli regime that claims it holds the highest standards of security and intelligence supply at home and abroad is exposed to such simple security risks of its army's weapons and ammunition being stolen, an issue everyday witnesses new expansion.
