Alwaght- Leader of Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has hailed Lebanon's victory over Israeli regime in the 2006 as a historic achievement.
The secretary general of Hezbollah made the comments Saturday during a televised address on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Lebanon's victory against Israeli Regime in the 33-day war, Press TV reported.
The Hezbollah leader appeared on a large screen during the speech at an event in the southern town of Bint Jbeil attended by hundreds of supporters celebrating the party's victory over Israeli regime.
He said the main goal of the Israeli aggression in 2006 was to crush resistance in the West Asia.
The resistance movement leader added that Hezbollah entered the war with Israel to safeguard the very principles of resistance.
He said the Israeli military was shaken after the 2006 war and it began to collapse.
Hezbollah Leader added that generals in the Israeli military began after the war to accuse each other of various faults.
“It was an earthquake which shook the Israeli army,” Sayyed Nasrallah said, adding that the war created a crisis of trust in the Israeli military establishment.
The Hezbollah leader said the 2006 war also prompted Israeli politicians to grow suspicious of the capabilities of the Israeli military, losing trust in the statements by Israeli generals and commanders about the power of the military.

The war, Nasrallah said, made the Israeli regime to recognize the real capabilities of Hezbollah and how the resistance movement can target the entire occupied Palestinian territories.
He said after the July war everyone began to ask questions about the very existence of the Tel Aviv regime.
“Before the July war, Israel was in a completely different situation,” Nasrallah said, adding that the results of the war and Israel’s defeat to Hezbollah almost changed all calculations about Israel’s existence.
“Israel was struck in its soul and its determination,” Nasrallah said, adding that Israel’s defeat to Hezbollah in Lebanon in 2006 made the Israelis to hesitate before announcing their goals of going to war with the Palestinians in Gaza in 2008.
Nasrallah warned that any future war with Israel would be its last, as even Israeli officials understand they cannot afford to strike Lebanon again.
"The Israeli enemy knows that the next war will be the last, and that if it lost, there will no longer be an Israel," he said.
He also said reiterated remarks he made 16 years ago that Israel was weaker than a "spiderweb."
"I tell Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu today that yes, Israel is weaker than a spider web and cannot fight and defend itself," Nasrallah said
Israel launched the war on Lebanon on July 12, 2006, on the pretext of countering attacks by Hezbollah on its forces across the border. The war formally ended on September 8, when Tel Aviv lifted its naval blockade of Lebanon. More than a thousand Lebanese were killed in the Israeli war.
The summer war lasted for 33 days, killing 1,200 Lebanese, mainly civilians, and 160 Israelis, most of whom were soldiers.
Sayyed Nasrallah said that the US is currently fighting the war on behalf of Israel, as it is no longer able to undertake a successful confrontation.

Hezbollah chief also called on ISIS and other terrorist groups to lay down their arms, urging them to realize that they are serving American interests by fighting in the region.
“To ISIS, Nusra and the takfiri groups that are fighting, we tell you that you have been exploited over the last five years to destroy the ‘axis of resistance’ and the people of the region,” dailystar.com.lb cited him as saying.
Admitting that it might be unusual to send a message to extremists on the anniversary of the July war, Nasrallah called on the groups to take a step back and realize who they are fighting for.
The Hezbollah chief said it was important to listen to the latest speeches coming out from Washington in which officials have been admitting that the US was behind the creation of ISIS.
Among those figures is Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, who recently called President Barack Obama the "founder" of ISIS. Trump also called his rival in the election, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, the "co-founder" of ISIS.
“The biggest weapon Trump is using against the Democrats is [to say] that they created ISIS. ... He is saying ‘these were made by Clinton and Obama.’”
Nasrallah said he believed the US created ISIS to destroy the “axis of resistance,” and Hezbollah in particular, as the group was serving on the front line to disrupt western plans for the region.
The "axis of resistance" refers to Syria, Iran and Hezbollah.
Turning to local matters, Nasrallah said Hezbollah will be cooperative in the formation of a new government once a president is elected.
Reiterating his support for the presidential candidacy of Free Patriotic Movement founder Michel Aoun, Nasrallah said he was "open" to other officials holding top government posts.
"We are open to the formation of a government after the election of a president. Our only candidate for the speakership is Nabih Berri," Nasrallah said.
The remark may have been a signal that Hezbollah could get on board with Future Movement leader Saad Hariri returning to the premiership in exchange for his support for Aoun.
He thanked Aoun for sticking by Hezbollah during the 2006 war, when most Christian leaders in the country secretly sided with Israel in its bid to crush Hezbollah, as has been revealed by WikiLeaks.
