Elsewhere on Thursday, the commander of Anbar Operations Command, Maj. Gen. Ismail al-Mahalawi, announced the killing of two top ISIS commanders in an artillery shelling east of Ramadi.
Mahalawi said in a press statement that, “The army’s artillery of Anbar Operations was able to shell a shelter belonging to the terrorists in the area of Kartman in al-Khalediya Island (23 km east of Ramadi), resulting in the destruction of the shelter.”

A so-called US-led coalition against purported ISIS positions in Iraq also started in August last year. However, many observers say that while the US and its allies claim they are fighting terrorist groups like ISIS, they in fact helped create and train those groups to advance their policies in the West Asia region.
The northern and western parts of Iraq have been plagued by violence ever since ISIS Takfiri militants began their march through Iraqi territory in June 2014. Iraqi Army soldiers and volunteer fighters have joined forces and are seeking to take back terrorist-held regions in joint operations.
The ISIS Takfiri terrorists have been committing vicious crimes against all ethnic and religious communities in Iraq.
