Heading a high-ranking 180-member economic and politic delegation, Zuma in his meetings with senior Iranian officials has signed eight memorandums of understanding (MOUs) in Tehran on Sunday to boost mutual relations.
The signed documents include an MOU for establishing a joint investment committee, a document for cooperation in the field of agriculture, an industrial and trade cooperation document, a program of cooperation in the artistic and cultural fields from 2016 to 2019.
The signed documents also include a cooperation document on insurance, and a document for cooperation on management of water resources, as well as cooperation document between South African PetroSA and Iran's Research Institute of Petroleum Industry and a MoU for exchange of financial information in money laundering.
Also Iran and South Africa call for strengthening intelligence and political cooperation to fight against violence and terrorism, which pose a serious threat to the Middle East, Africa and the entire world.
“This can be very helpful and effective in combating terrorist groups,” the Iranian president stated.
Press TV quoted as Rouhani saying: “Like in the past, the two countries will have more serious cooperation in the field of international issues, particularly the future of the United Nations and reforms that the United Nations Security Council must undertake so that countries can defend their interests in the United Nations and particularly in the Security Council,”
Rouhani and Zuma also believe that what can solve the conflict in Yemen is an inter-Yemeni dialog and also stated that the two countries urged support for the Iraqi government in its fight against terrorism in a bid to improve stability and peace in the Arab state.
After the implementation of Tehran's nuclear agreement, dubbed as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) many countries have officially visited Iran aimed at strengthening political, economic and cultural relations.
