Alwaght- The Iraqi government has put together an armed force of 20,000 members to retake the province of Mosul from the ISIS terrorist group, the head of Mosul's provincial council said, Shafaqna website reported.
"The government has prepared its liberating Mosul plan, which brings together special forces of Iraqi troops, Peshmerga forces, and the Mosul governorate," Bashar Kiki said, World Bulletin reported .
Kiki said that the Kurdish Peshmerga forces will be needed for the operation, and the plan might fail in their absence .
"The plan to rescue Mosul may not be implemented before spring. This is of serious concern to us, as the terrorists are, every passing day, killing people, raping women and destroying Mosul," he added .
Yawar: A shipment of arms and ammunition arrives to Erbil to use them in liberalization of Mosul process.
Peshmerga Ministry secretary-general of Kurdistan Regional Government announced on Monday, the arrival of a shipment of arms and ammunition to Erbil and the shipment will be used in the liberation of all of the city of Mosul and the central Nineveh province .
Yawar said in a statement published by the website, seen by “Shafaq News Agency" that "large shipment of weapons have arrived at Erbil International Airport and will be distributed to units of Mosul police that are currently in Kurdistan Region ."
Gen. Bridget, Jabbar Yawar pointed out that, the arms that reached will be sent to Mosul’s police of 5,000 components with the opening of a special center for them in Bashiqa area, which is supervised by the police in Mosul and are currently getting training and the formation of the police again, as these weapons will be sent to Mosul police .
He added that "these weapons will be sent to Bashiqa, because Mosul police station will be opened and supervised by Mosul police chief and governor of Mosul ."
The general commander of the armed forces and the Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has issued an order to form a power to liberate Nineveh province from the presence of ISIS terrorist group, stated Hussain al-Maliki, MP for the Iraqi National Alliance .
