Alwaght-At least two foreigners have been killed in Afghanistan in a fresh rocket attack on the American-controlled Bagram air base, near the capital, Kabul.
Local officials confirmed that Bagram air base, located next to the ancient city of Bagram in eastern Parwan Province, came under attack on Monday morning.
The identity and nationality of the victims have not been revealed yet.
The Taliban militants have claimed responsibility for the assault.
The strike is the second rocket attack on Bagram in less than 48 hours. The Taliban militants fired rockets on the air base Saturday night, claiming that outgoing American Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel was at the base when it was targeted by rockets.
Bagram is home to thousands of America military personnel and civilian contractors.
The airbase has come under numerous rocket attacks since it was set up by the American army after it invaded Afghanistan more than thirteen years ago.
The militants have recently stepped up their attacks against the Afghan troops, foreign forces and civilians.
The group has vowed to escalate the attacks on Afghan forces and America-led troops, their bases, diplomatic missions and vehicle convoys before the foreign forces partially exit the country at the end of 2014.
The America will keep 10,800 troops in Afghanistan in 2015.
