ALWAGHT- Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei has condemned Germany and other European countries for what he described as inconsistent and irresponsible positions regarding the US-Israeli military campaign against Iran.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei criticized Germany and other European countries for what he described as contradictory positions on potential renewed US-Israeli attacks against Iran. In a post on X late Saturday, he recalled German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s June 2025 remarks describing Israel’s military campaign against Iran as “the dirty work Israel is doing for all of us.”
Baghaei contrasted Merz’s earlier comments with warnings by German Foreign Minister and other European officials in October 2026 about renewed attacks and the need to prevent further escalation in West Asia. He cited a passage from Friedrich Schiller’s play The Maid of Orleans to underscore his criticism of what he portrayed as Europe’s inconsistent stance.
His remarks come amid reports that Washington and Tel Aviv are preparing for new large-scale military operations against Iran. Tehran has warned that any renewed attack would prompt a stronger and broader response.
