ALWAGHT- Major General Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said on Sunday, October 11, that Tehran considers Washington’s response to its seven conditions for ending the war and reopening the Strait of Hormuz insufficient. Rezaei said the United States had accepted some of Iran’s demands but left other issues unresolved.
Rezaei stated Iran had held three rounds of negotiations with the United States, accusing Washington of abandoning talks and launching attacks on Iran during each round. He said Tehran would no longer return to previous diplomatic approaches, while emphasizing that Iran had not abandoned diplomacy but had changed its approach.
He added that the United States had sent proposals through Pakistan, Qatar, and Iraq over the preceding two months and asked Tehran to present its own terms. Rezaei stressed that Iran would not agree to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or resume negotiations unless its seven conditions were met and outstanding ambiguities resolved.
Rezaei maintained that Iran would continue its resistance and defense until its demands were recognized. He also criticized the Trump administration’s handling of the conflict, accusing it of miscalculating the consequences of the war and allowing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to influence its decisions.
