ALWAGHT- Yemen’s armed forces say they have targeted key Saudi infrastructure and military positions, warning that retaliatory operations will continue until Riyadh halts its attacks and lifts the blockade on Yemen.
Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) spokesperson Yahya Saree announced on Sunday that four major military operations targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, and Aramco’s Shedgum and Tanajib gas facilities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. He said the attacks, carried out using ballistic and cruise missiles and drones, disrupted airport operations and sparked fires at both energy facilities.
In a separate operation, Yemeni forces targeted Saudi troop concentrations in Ras al-‘Ara and al-Saqiya with six ballistic missiles and two drones. Saree reported dozens of casualties and said Yemeni air defenses forced Saudi aircraft to retreat after confronting them with locally manufactured surface-to-air missiles.
Saree warned international airlines, companies, workers, and travelers against using Saudi airports, describing them as unsafe, while exempting airports and airspace serving Mecca and Medina. He also said Saudi aircraft had conducted 124 airstrikes across several Yemeni governorates in 24 hours, bringing the reported total since the escalation began to 2,058.
Vowing to intensify operations inside Saudi territory, Saree said Yemeni attacks would continue until Riyadh halted its military campaign and lifted the blockade on Yemen. Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition reported that a projectile struck Terminal 4 at King Khalid International Airport, causing a fire, while claiming its air defenses intercepted a cruise missile near the airport.
