Iran Condemns Commercial Vessel Attack, Summons Ukrainian Chargé d’Affaires

ALWAGHT- Iran's Foreign Ministry summoned Ukraine's chargé d'affaires in Tehran over an alleged Ukrainian military attack on an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea, which reportedly killed one crew member and wounded several others.

Iran's Foreign Ministry summoned Ukraine's chargé d'affaires in Tehran to protest what it described as a Ukrainian attack on an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea. Iranian officials called the incident a hostile and criminal act, saying it violated the UN Charter and threatened the security of Caspian littoral states.

During the meeting, Assistant Foreign Minister Manouchehr Moradi said Ukraine must be held accountable and punish those responsible. He also stressed that Iran would defend its national security and would not leave attacks on its citizens or their property unanswered.

The summons came after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Kyiv had struck a vessel he claimed was being used to transport military cargo to Iran. Iran's Foreign Ministry condemned the attack, describing it as an act of aggression and accusing Ukraine of maintaining an irrational and hostile approach toward the Islamic Republic.
