ALWAGHT- The Iranian Ambassador to Germany stressed that peace cannot be achieved when double standards are applied.
Iranian Ambassador to Berlin, Majid Nili, responded on X to recent remarks by German officials, including the Foreign Minister. He reiterated that Iran has repeatedly and explicitly stated it does not consider nuclear weapons an appropriate tool for defense. Nili argued that if Germany is truly opposed to nuclear weapons, its standards must be uniform, not selective—demanding nuclear disarmament of the Israeli regime and explicitly condemning military aggression against Iran and attacks on civilians, starting with US missile strikes on the Minab school. He emphasized that peace is impossible with double standards.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul had previously called on Iran to reliably renounce any option to acquire nuclear weapons. Wadephul also demanded the complete reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, insisting Iran "must" end the blockade. Additionally, the German Chancellor on Sunday stated that Iran "must" enter serious negotiations with the United States and keep the Strait of Hormuz open without restrictions. Nili's response implicitly rejected what he views as selectively applied pressure that ignores Israeli nuclear weapons and US military actions.
