ALWAGHT- Iran has officially responded to the latest US proposal aimed at reaching a deal that would bring a permanent end to the US-Israeli war of aggression against the country.
Iran has submitted its official reply to the latest US proposal for ending the war of aggression, delivered through Pakistan, which has been mediating the efforts. The response insists that current negotiations between Iran and the US should focus solely on ending the war, while other issues—including disputes over Iran's nuclear program—should be addressed in later stages of talks. The US proposal was a response to a 14-article plan previously submitted by Iran aimed at halting the US-Israeli war of aggression and guaranteeing shipping security in the Persian Gulf.
Iran and the US held intensive negotiations on April 11–12 in Islamabad, days after Pakistan mediated a ceasefire to end the aggression that began in late February. However, the talks collapsed over US maximalist demands. A key sticking point has been the restoration of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has controlled since the early days of the war. Iran has indicated it is ready to reopen the strait if the aggression ends permanently and the US lifts its illegal sanctions and blockade. Tehran has proposed that a first-phase deal focus on shipping and sanctions, with nuclear program discussions to follow in later stages.
