ALWAGHT- Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of the Iranian Army Navy, has discussed the role of small-sized submarines in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Sunday remarks by Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of the Army Navy, Iran's light submarines are actively expanding their deployment in the Strait of Hormuz in response to threats, available capabilities, and operational needs. These "Persian Gulf dolphins," as he called them, can remain on the seabed for long durations while intercepting and destroying enemy vessels.
Irani further explained that these submarines recently surfaced during a tribute operation to honor the martyrs of the Dena destroyer in the Strait of Hormuz, demonstrating Iran's maritime defense strength. Following several planned maneuvers, they returned to deep waters to carry on with their assigned missions.
