US Strikes Civilian Vessels En Route to Iran, Killing 5

ALWAGHT- A military source told local Iranian media that the United States attacked two civilian cargo boats traveling from Oman to Iran, killing at least five people on board.

A military source has rejected US claims that it targeted Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) speedboats. Instead, the source asserts that the US committed a "blatant crime" by opening fire on two small civilian cargo boats. The attack occurred while the boats were traveling from the Omani town of Khasab toward Iranian shores, resulting in the deaths of five civilian passengers.

According to the source, the investigation began after it was verified that no IRGC combat vessels had been hit. Local sources were consulted to determine the true nature of the incident, leading to the conclusion that American forces attacked civilian boats. The source argues that the US must be held accountable for the crime, which it attributes to "hasty and clumsy" actions driven by fear following Iran's recent warnings against hostile vessels in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz.

Tensions have escalated in the region since February 28, when the US and Israel began a new round of aggression against Iran. Iran has since shut down the waterway to enemies and imposed stricter controls, especially after former President Donald Trump announced an illegal blockade of Iranian vessels. On Friday, the IRGC Navy pledged to enforce a directive from Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, who declared that foreigners with hostile intentions have no place in the Persian Gulf "except at the bottom of its waters."
