ALWAGHT- Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman has condemned the terrorist attack in Damascus's Sayyida Zainab district that resulted in the martyrdom of Farhan Hassan al-Mansour, the Friday prayers preacher at the Sayyida Zainab (SA) Shrine.
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei has expressed deep disgust at the terrorist killing of Shiite cleric Farhan Hassan al-Mansour, the Friday prayers preacher at Damascus's Sayyida Zainab Shrine, who was killed when assailants hurled a grenade into his car. Baghaei stated that such terrorist acts against religious sites and scholars in Syria and the region are part of an evil plot by the Zionist regime and the United States to incite sedition and division. He underlined that all parties must remain vigilant against these plots and fulfill their responsibilities to decisively confront terrorism and extremism.
Baghaei offered condolences to the martyred scholar's family and to Syria's religious community, emphasizing the need to identify and punish the perpetrators and masterminds, as well as to foster collective cooperation among regional countries to eradicate terrorism. He also stressed the responsibility of Syria's transitional government to ensure the security of all people, scholars, and ethnic, religious, and sectarian groups. Syria's Interior Ministry has opened an investigation into the incident and is working to identify the suspect.
