Middle East Conflicts: Are America and Israel Seeking Security or Resources?

ALWAGHT- In a world confronted by escalating crises—from regional conflicts to energy and food shortages—the struggle between two contrasting philosophies has never been more evident. One philosophy is anchored in the exploitative methods of the United States and Israel, driven by a relentless pursuit of resources. The alternative ideology underscores resistance, self-reliance, and the reconfiguration of regional systems, ultimately shaping the direction of power dynamics.

West Asia's contemporary structure requires understanding Israel's historical formation, which was marked by political engineering, occupation, and population displacement, including land plundering. Over time, this process has been supported by the United States, transforming into a geopolitical project. Reports from human rights organizations reveal that confiscation of civilian property is common within the Israeli military, demonstrating a disregard for all legal norms.

The strategies of the United States and Israel have revolved around war, economy, and resource plunder, as evidenced by sanctions, military interventions, and asset confiscations. This approach aims to secure energy resources and national wealth through various means, such as blockades and seizing ships.

In response to this model of domination, countries like Iran have adopted a strategy based on active resistance, relying on domestic capacity, multilayered deterrence, and a combination of field and diplomacy. Control over the Strait of Hormuz, a significant energy chokepoint, is essential for Iran's geopolitical advantage.

The emergence of a new regional order with decreased dependency on the United States could lead to reduced tensions, increased stability, and the potential shift in control of resources from tools of domination to leverage for cooperation and joint development. If this process continues, it may challenge the traditional strategies of the US and Israel and present an opportunity for a new balance in the region. The future of West Asia depends on the level of convergence among countries and their ability to contain US and Israeli influence.
