Iranian Foreign Minister Discusses Regional Tensions with Omani Sultan

ALWAGHT- Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi holds discussions on bilateral relations and regional developments with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq in Muscat.

During a meeting in Muscat, Iran's top diplomat, Abbas Araghchi, and the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq, exchanged views on regional developments and mediation efforts to end conflicts.

Araghchi briefed the Sultan about the Iranian viewpoint following the US and Israeli war of aggression against Iran, while expressing gratitude for Oman's support of dialogue efforts and security in the region.

The Sultan emphasized the importance of prioritizing dialogue and diplomacy to address regional challenges and consolidate peace foundations. Tensions remain high due to the US-Israeli war against Iran, which began on February 28 with the assassination of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and top military commanders. Iran and the US reached a temporary ceasefire on April 8, but talks in Islamabad failed to produce an agreement due to America's unreasonable demands.
