Fourth Day of War: How’s Iran Responding?

Operation True Promise 4: War of Attrition with Regional and International Aspects

Alwaght- The US and Israeli regime started a war against Iran with the imagination that with assassination of military and political leadership and destruction of infrastructures, they will unleash a wave of public discontentment and the people will turn their back to Islamic Republic political system to move past the critical conditions and so the West can implement its evil plans in Iran.

However, what happened in reality went against their thoughts and since the first hours of the war, the Iranians showed that they may be divided at home, but at the time of foreign aggression, they put aside their differences and unite their ranks to block damage to their national security.

Having been loyal to the Islamic Republic over the past 47 of their Islamic Revolution that overthrew pro-Western Pahlavi rule in 1979, the Iranian people in their fight against Washington and Tel Aviv have shown that their spirit of resistance is still alive. After the country announced martyrdom of the Supreme Leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei in an Israeli attack on his office in Tehran on Saturday, waves of spontaneous public movements began to overflow in support of the Islamic Republic and millions took to the streets and mosques in the capital Tehran and other cities to mourn their grand leader and once again swear allegiance to the Islamic Revolution.

Massive mourning ceremonies and condemnations of the enemies and support to the armed forces tell us a reality: All the Iranians are united against the foreign enemy and foreign threats cannot crack the unity between the Islamic Republic and people.

While the primary responsibility for confronting enemy threats lies with the armed forces, the strongest and most impenetrable line of defense against adversaries is the fortress of national unity and cohesion that can bring any powerful enemy to its knees.

Washington's leaders claimed they would bring democracy and freedom to the people of Iran, but what the world sees today are the countless crimes committed by the US and the Israeli regime, which have turned hundreds of Iranians into victims and devastated many regions. Thus, the Iranian people, with their eyes wide open and aware of the enemy's malicious intentions, have bolstered their sense of resistance by standing firm, thwarting the aggressors' ambitious goals.

In these challenging times, Iranians have demonstrated their unwavering spirit of defiance against hegemonic powers, affirming their commitment to defending Iran's territorial integrity and refusing to allow enemies to dictate their fate.

This exemplary spirit of resistance has countered the expectations of Washington and Tel Aviv, which had anticipated widespread domestic opposition. Instead, their plans have faltered, with the Israeli army admitting that despite extensive attacks on Iran's military infrastructure, there has been no sign of collapse in the governance and military structures, as Iranians are in the process of regaining their strength.

The people of Iran, who have weathered past storms, have once again shown resilience, battling through heavy losses and costs to neutralize enemy plans with their steadfastness and determination.

Through continuous mourning for their martyred leader and maintaining calm within the country, they effectively secure the domestic front by avoiding rumor-mongering and fostering awareness, preventing adversaries from causing disruption within the armed forces through infiltration and division. Meanwhile, reports suggest that the US and the occupying regime plan to arm separatist groups in Iran and Iraq to spark chaos, but the public’s presence in the field could thwart these schemes, just as they did during the early days of the revolution and the eight years of Sacred Defense against Saddam Hussein’s imposed war in the 1980s.

Public unity, source of morale for armed forces

The unity of people of Iran in these challenging days sends a strong message to the armed forces, telling them they are not alone. When people from all social and political and social layers and thoughts find themselves in front of foreign threats, they actually display a cohesion that boosts morale of the armed forces and at the same time frightens the adversaries.

When military forces feel assured that the nation stands firmly behind them, they enter the field with confidence and courage. This sense of security, transmitted from the heart of the community to the warriors, plays a crucial role in breaking the enemy's morale and bolstering resilience against the hardships of war.

The powerful presence of the people behind the front lines provides a level of assurance that enables fighters to focus entirely on defending the country’s territory and confronting foreign adversaries. Any action taken to maintain unity and avoid division directly strengthens the front lines and enhances the combat capacity of the armed forces. This has been evident in the first few days of the conflict, with American and Israeli officials admitting they were unprepared for a strong response from Iran's military, noting that part of this success stems not only from military might but also from popular support.

Thus, every Iranian during these times, by preserving unity and solidarity, is indirectly but significantly present on the front lines of the war. By uplifting the spirits of the armed forces, they make a substantial contribution to achieving the country’s defensive objectives.

At the time of crisis, distrust between people and the political system can embolden the enemy to push harder for its goals, but when unity between the two is firm, the road to victory of enemy will be blocked and this is what the Iranians are great at. This spirit of resistance sends a strong message to the Western-Israeli camp that with the existence of a united and resolved nation like Iran, they cannot impose their will on the Iranians and make them surrender.

Just as they failed to achieve success through economic pressures and waging an 8-year and 12-day wars against Iran, this time victory will belong to the nation once again. The enemies, disillusioned by their efforts for regime change, will have no choice but to yield to the will of the Iranians.
