Iran Suggests Epstein Case Linked to Israeli Political Agenda

ALWAGHT- Iran has suggested the global Jeffrey Epstein scandal may be a geopolitical "project" designed to benefit Israel, not merely a criminal case.

The recent release of a large volume of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein has caused significant shock across global institutions, forcing many prominent figures to explain their associations with the convicted sex offender. In response, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei stated the scandal should not be viewed as merely a US or individual criminal matter. Instead, he suggested it may be part of a broader geopolitical "project" intended to serve the political objectives of certain parties, explicitly naming the Israeli regime.

Baghaei condemned the affair as a "human and civilizational catastrophe" and a potential crime against humanity, arguing it reveals a profound moral crisis within Western systems of governance. He pointed to the involvement of senior political figures and questioned the lack of formal public judicial proceedings, describing the revealed crimes as horrific and indicative of a deeply troubling mindset toward women and children.

The newly released US Department of Justice files, part of a multi-million page trove, detail Epstein's connections to powerful political and business figures internationally. The documents reportedly include references to US President Donald Trump, his advisor Jared Kushner, and former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak. Importantly, they provide evidence suggesting Epstein had ties to Israeli intelligence.

Supporting this link, a declassified 2020 FBI memo cited a source who believed Epstein was a "co-opted Mossad agent" trained as a spy for Israel. The same source suggested that former President Trump was potentially vulnerable to Israeli influence due to financial and political leverage. Baghaei concluded that the scandal requires careful multi-dimensional examination, noting it carries significant political and security implications for the region.
