ALWAGHT- The IRGC has named Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi as its new deputy commander.
Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi, formerly deputy chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, has replaced Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi as deputy commander of the IRGC. The appointment was made by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, following a recommendation by IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad Pakpour. Vahidi has previously held senior positions, including commander of the IRGC Quds Force, minister of defense, interior minister, and deputy chief of staff of the armed forces.
