Khatibzadeh: Iran-China Relations Stand Strong and Historical

ALWAGHT- Iran-China relations are authentic, civilizational, and long-standing, the Deputy Foreign Minister stated.

Saeed Khatibzadeh, Head of Iran’s Center for Political and International Studies, opened the third Iran-China Dialogue Forum, highlighting the approaching 55th anniversary of official Iran-China relations. He emphasized the enduring principle of friendship between the two countries, regardless of shifts in the international system, and stressed the need for practical planning to strengthen bilateral ties amid a complex global environment.

Khatibzadeh noted that both countries’ leaders have actively pursued initiatives to shape the international order through forums such as the SCO Summit. He stressed that think tanks and experts from both nations play a critical role in aligning strategies, reducing implementation costs, and facilitating practical programs to achieve the strategic goals outlined by their leaders.

The Forum focuses on advancing cooperation along the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, formalized in 2015 and reinforced with a Strategic Cooperation Document in 2021. Khatibzadeh outlined priority areas for collaboration, including technology, multilateral cooperation, development corridors, tourism, renewable energy, and clean industries, emphasizing that these areas will be explored in depth during the Forum’s panels and workshops.

The event also includes specialized discussions on economic, technological, and geopolitical cooperation, along with cultural exchanges and the opening of a Historical Documents Exhibition on Iran-China relations. The Forum serves as a platform to exchange expert views, develop actionable roadmaps, and enhance strategic partnership between Tehran and Beijing at both regional and international levels.
