ALWAGHT- Iran's First Vice President emphasized the government's focus on applying nuclear technology to improve living standards, mainly by securing electricity for the population.
Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref stressed the government's dedication to developing peaceful nuclear energy, specifically for improving public welfare. During a meeting of the Special Projects Working Group, he told officials, including the head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, that generating electricity through nuclear power is an "undeniable necessity" to meet the country's energy demands and to attract investment.
Aref firmly distinguished Iran's program from military applications, stating that pursuing "non-peaceful uses" has never been part of the country's agenda. He argued that the international community now recognizes Iran's intentions to solely harness nuclear technology for civilian needs, such as agriculture, medicine, and food security.
He pointed to Iran's domestic advances in radiopharmaceuticals and other nuclear applications in agriculture and healthcare as proof of its peaceful goals and as a direct response to what he called Western propaganda. Aref concluded that these technological achievements provide tangible, everyday benefits to the Iranian people.
