ALWAGHT- An Israeli drone strike near Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood has killed a Palestinian man, in breach of the ceasefire agreement with Hamas.
Medical sources in Gaza reported that Muhammad Nasr Siam, a young Palestinian man, was killed by gunfire from an Israeli drone east of the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, on Monday. The area falls near the so-called “yellow line,” a zone demarcated by Israeli forces under last month’s US-brokered ceasefire, which restricts civilian movement. Israeli artillery also targeted the eastern part of the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza.
The Gaza Government Media Office said Israel has violated the ceasefire at least 591 times in the 50 days since it came into effect on October 10, resulting in hundreds of Palestinian casualties. According to the office, 357 civilians have been killed and 903 wounded, with most victims being women, children, and the elderly. The violations include shelling, raids in residential areas, property destruction, and abductions, actions the office condemned as serious breaches of international humanitarian law.
The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that since the start of Israel’s war in October 2023, over 70,100 Palestinians have been killed and more than 170,900 wounded. Humanitarian access continues to be blocked, and infrastructure across the Gaza Strip has been heavily damaged, worsening the ongoing crisis.
