UN Envoy Dismisses US and Israeli Claims Against Iran

ALWAGHT- Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations firmly rejected the “baseless and politically driven” allegations made by the US and the Israeli regime during the Security Council’s open debate on small arms and light weapons.

In a letter addressed to UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Security Council President Michael Imran Kanu, Iran’s UN ambassador Saeed Iravani firmly rejected US and Israeli accusations that Iran has supplied weapons to non-state actors or destabilized the region. He described the allegations as part of a “deliberate disinformation campaign” intended to deflect attention from Washington and Tel Aviv’s own “unlawful actions” and military aggression in the region.

Iravani emphasized that Iran’s regional activities are transparent, lawful, and fully consistent with the principles of the UN Charter. He argued that the real sources of instability in the Middle East are the Israeli regime’s aggressive policies and the United States’ unwavering support for them. He accused both nations of fabricating claims to undermine Iran’s international standing and distract from what he called their “atrocious crimes” in occupied Palestinian territories.

The envoy also dismissed allegations from Ukraine that Iran supplied weapons to Russia for use in the ongoing conflict. Reaffirming Tehran’s position, Iravani stated that Iran advocates a peaceful resolution to the war through dialogue and diplomacy in accordance with international law. He requested that his letter be circulated as an official UN Security Council document.
