Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, called on Pakistan and Afghanistan to respect each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, urging both sides to engage in immediate talks to reduce tensions and resolve disputes diplomatically.
Tehran emphasized its commitment to regional peace and stability and expressed readiness to assist in easing tensions between the two neighboring Muslim countries.
The warning comes amid escalating border clashes between Taliban and Pakistani forces, following an air strike on Kabul. Afghanistan claimed the attacks were retaliatory, while Pakistan called them “unprovoked,” highlighting the growing volatility along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
