During his landmark visit to Riyadh, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani said his talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman focused on strengthening economic relations. He noted that current economic ties between the two countries are limited and stressed the need to remove obstacles to growth.
The discussions also covered regional cooperation and efforts to enhance stability in the Middle East. On defense matters, Larijani said both sides explored ways to expand collaboration, with plans to pursue these initiatives through dedicated working groups to ensure a more organized approach in the future.
Commenting on shifts in regional dynamics following recent events in Qatar, Larijani stated that Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, now have a clearer understanding of regional challenges. He highlighted that Iran’s long-standing warnings about certain destabilizing actors in the region are increasingly recognized, underscoring the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation.
