Iran Underlines Importance of Mutual Resolve to Restart Nuclear Talks

ALWAGHT- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that although regional countries are actively backing efforts to resume nuclear talks with Tehran, the key factor is the other side’s willingness to engage in discussions based on mutual interests and without threats.

Speaking after the inauguration of the second Iran-ECO Conference in Tehran, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi noted that many countries, including regional states beyond Qatar, are actively supporting efforts to resume nuclear talks with Iran. He emphasized that while mediators can help, the key factor is the other side’s willingness to engage in negotiations that protect the interests of both parties.

Araghchi described the recent Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha as a pivotal meeting, highlighting the high-level participation of OIC and Arab League member states. He said the summit reflects growing regional recognition of Israel as a central threat and confirms Tehran’s long-standing position on Israeli aggression.

The Iranian minister stressed that a regional consensus has formed regarding the severity of the Israeli threat, with countries exploring collective measures to address it. He expressed hope that regional unity and cooperation would prevail in tackling these challenges, even as diplomatic frameworks for renewed engagement with Iran continue to develop.
